Bail pair tagged

TWO men who deny attacking a man in his city centre flat are to be electronically tagged, a judge has ruled.

District Judge Barney McElholm has also banned the two defendants from entering the walled city area of Londonderry.

The defendants - 30 years old James Anthony Kelly, from Shepherd's View, and 45 years old Paul McElhinney, from Waterloo Street - are alleged to have attacked the 31 years old victim in his Shipquay Street flat on last Monday.

The complainant has alleged that he was struck several times on the head with a dumbbell and a vodka bottle and, as a result, sustained lacerations to the head.

The defendants, who also deny falsely imprisoning the complainant, were released on bail and will remain tagged until their next court appearance on December 8.
