Ballee folk thanked for helping to find missing child

THANKS have been extended from Ballymena PSNI to members of the Ballee community who turned out to help locate a child who was reported missing on Tuesday evening, May 7.

The local youngster was located safe and well not far from his home and had been playing with friends when he became lost.

Police tasked a helicopter during the search which lasted for just under an hour. Ballymena Inspector David McCausland was involved in the search and was happy with the outcome: “It’s always very satisfying to close off an incident with a good outcome. There is no better outcome than a child returned to a family safe and well.

“The minutes after police receive a report of a missing child is very important to a happy outcome. That’s why I would like to thank the local community for coming out en masse and working with us to return the child to his parents.

“It shows the strength of community spirit in the area but also how we sucessfully police with the community,” he said.
