Ballinderry Traffic calming measures

The Roads Service is considering plans to introduce traffic calming measures in Ballinderry.

A representative from the Traffic Management department of Roads Service (Eastern Division) recently wrote to the Planning Committee of Lisburn City Council to outline the plans for traffic calming measures in Lower Ballinderry Village.

Roads Service included plans for measures on a number of roads in the area, including the Lower Ballinerry Road, Aghalee Road and Crumlin Road.

The preliminary plan includes proposals for three taper sided flat top elongated road humps on the Lower Ballinderry Road.

There are also plans for six taper sided flat top elongated road humps on the Aghalee Road, as well as a taper sided flat top elongated road hump on the Crumlin
Road.

Further proposals for the Crumlin Road include three ‘kerb to kerb’ flat top elongated road humps and a set of double speed cushions.

Lisburn City Council’s Planning Committee and councillors for the Ballinderry area have been invited to comment on the scheme prior to any decision to fully implement the proposals.
