Ballybogey man helps launch Volunteer Campaign for World Police and Fire Games

Helping to get the World Police and Fire Games volunteer recruitment campaign up and running is local guest house owner Bryan Watton (3rd right) from Ballybogey.

Bryan’s recent volunteer experience includes the Irish Open golf championship at Royal Portrush and this year’s International Airshow.

Throughout September and October the 2013 staff team will be delivering “VolunTour” – a series of roadshow information points which will travel across Northern Ireland to engage with the community at a grassroots level and highlight the many opportunities available at the Games. It will include visits to shopping centres, libraries, college fresher fairs, a range of high profile public events, business and sporting conferences.

In the Coleraine area the VolunTour will visit Coleraine Library on Tuesday 16th October from 9am to 5pm. The tour team also attended the recent International Airshow and a number of Freshers’ events at Northern Regional College campuses.

Volunteer applications should be submitted by 31st October 2012. Over 3,500 volunteers will help deliver the World Police and Fire Games which will take place on 1st -10th August 2013.
