Ballycarry PS will not be merged
Plans to merge Ballycarry Primary School with the two schools in Islandmagee are no longer on the cards, it has emerged.
The North Eastern Education and Library Board had proposed the creation of a single school to replace Ballycarry PS, Kilcoan PS and Mullaghdubh PS.
But, following a public consultation, the Board has decided that the new school – at a location to be agreed – will only replace the provision at Kilcoan and Mullaghdubh.
An NEELB spokeswoman said: “The Board agreed to keep provision at Ballycarry PS under review.”
