Ballycarry sisters donate hair to cancer-support charity
Abbie Cunningham is six years old and attends Carrickfergus Central Primary while sister Shannon is a 13-year-old pupil at Carrickfergus College.
Mum Margaret takes up their story: “After seeing photos of little kids that had lost their hair due to chemotherapy and a cousin who was diagnosed with cancer when she was a baby and also lost her hair, they decided they wanted to grow their own to donate it so it could be used to make wigs for these sick children.

Hide Ad“On 15th June in Studio 10 hairdressers in Carrick, Billy, the owner, cut 13 inches from Abbie’s hair and 10 inches from Shannon’s.
“The girls have raised an amazing £410 in sponsorship for Little Princess Trust and as a family we are immensely proud of them both. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who sponsored the girls.”
