Ballycastle and Moyle police round-up

OFFICER ASSAULTED: Police are appealing for information following an incident in which a police officer was assaulted in the Diamond area of Ballycastle in the early hours of Sunday, October 28th.

BURGLARY: On Monday 29th October, a 23-year-old male was arrested in the Kemp Park area of Ballycastle on suspicion of burglary of a shop on Moyle Road on Friday 26th October. He appeared at North Antrim Magistrates’ Court on 30th October and was remanded in custody.

DRUGS ARRESTS: On Monday 29th October, following a search of a dwelling house on Leyland Road, Ballycastle, two arrests were made. One was a 21-year-old female arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs, possession with intent to supply and allowing her property to be used. The second person was a 32-year-old male who was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs, Class B drugs and Class B with intent to supply. A number of other items were seized. Both persons were released on police bail, the female to 21st November and the male to 18th November.

PHONE STOLEN: Police received a report on Monday, October 29th, that a mobile phone had been stolen whilst the owner was in licensed premises on Castle Street Ballycastle, on Saturday 27th October. A further report was made to police of a mobile phone being stolen from a coat pocket in licensed premises again on Castle Street in Ballycastle on Sunday, October 28th.

DISORDERLY: A 32-year-old male with an address in Dunmurry was arrested in the Whitehall Court area of Ballycastle for disorderly behaviour on October 31st. He has been charged to appear at North Antrim Magistrates’ Court on 26th November.

ASSAULT: Police are investigating allegations of an assault which occurred in the early hours of Thursday 1st November in the Ann Street area of Ballycastle.

CAUSEWAY THEFT: On Thursday 1st November police received a report that a Blackberry had been stolen from the toilets in the Causeway Visitors’ Centre.

ARREST: On Friday 2nd November, a 47-year-old Ballycastle male was arrested in the Whitehall area of Ballycastle for disorderly behaviour. He was released pending a report to the PPS.

CAR STOLEN: In the early hours of Sunday 4th November, following reports of a car having been stolen fom the Fogarty Crescent area of Ballycastle, a 33-year-old Ballycastle man who is a relative of the owner, has been arrested on suspicion of taking and driving away and driving with no insurance. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

ASSAULT: On Sunday 4th November, following police attending a domestic incident in the Bush Gardens area of Bushmills, a 45-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of common assault.
