“Two devices were thrown into the grounds of the police station and were discovered this morning (05 March). One was a viable incendiary device, the other a hoax.

“Thankfully those devices were made safe by ATO and disruption to the community was keep at a minimum.

Police and the people of Ballycastle have a broadly positive relationship. My hope is that this relationship comes through again as we appeal for information in relation to this incident. If you saw suspicious activity around the station last night or into the early hours this morning please let us know. You can call police on the non-emergency number 101. Or, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
