Ballycastle High School Youth Club open evening

BALLYCASTLE High School Youth Club are holding an open evening this Saturday, 9th March, from 4pm to 7pm.

Young people aged from 8-18 are invited as well as parents/guardians, anyone thinking about sending their kids to the club and anyone interested in volunteering opportunities with the NEELB Youth Service. It’s a great chance to meet the staff and find out what the club has to offer to young people and volunteers.
There will be various displays and workshops going on including arts and crafts, cookery, games and an archery taster session. Moyle Youth Council will be serving teas and coffees and Cromore Castles will be there with Sumo suits and an inflatable assault course. The evening will end with a light buffet and a short show put on by the junior members.

Tracy Walker, Youth Support Worker-in-Charge, said: ‘The young people and staff are putting a lot of time and effort into planning the event and it would be great to see a good turnout and a bit of community support. We have heard a lot lately about young people having nothing to do in the town so it’s a chance for the community to get involved and come and see what we have to offer.

‘There is a lot of potential to build on what we already have and provide good activities and events for young people of all ages here in Ballycastle but we need the Community behind us. We would like to hear people’s thoughts and ideas and would encourage anyone who has an interest in volunteering to come along.’
