Ballycastle man charged with grievous bodily harm

A BALLYCASTLE man charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent to a man has has his case adjourned to June.

Jason Patrick McCaughan (29), of Glentaisie Drive, is accused of committing the offence on October 17 last year. The case was was mentioned at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday, May 9 in his absence and the accused has yet to enter either a plea of guilty or not guilty. He is on continuing bail of £500 and is banned from attempting to see, speak or contact the alleged injured party. He is also banned from entering Ballycastle except for employment between the hours of 9am and 6pm. He had been allowed to attend a birthday meal at a Ballycastle pub on March 23 and a family dinner at Altnananam Park on March 27. He is banned from entering licensed premises and is not allowed alcohol.
