Ballycastle murder accused remanded in further custody

A MAN accused of murder in Ballycastle has been further remanded in custody.

Christopher Patrick Keenan (34), whose address was listed on court papers as no fixed abode, Ballymena, appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court via video link from Maghaberry Prison on Monday May 15.

He had short spiky hair and was wearing glasses.

He is charged with murdering Anthony McErlain in Ballycastle on January 28 this year.

A prosecutor said she hoped that in the next number of weeks there will be “significant progress” in relation to the preparation of the case file. Mr McErlain (48) was found dead at a house in the Broombeg View area of Ballycastle.
