Ballyclare Presbyterian remembers the war years

AS PART of this year's May Fair programme, Ballyclare Presbyterian Church is hosting the War Years Remembered exhibition from Saturday 22 to Saturday 29 May in its Church halls.

Anyone who visited the exhibition in Ballyclare last year will remember the unique displays of wartime memorabilia, including uniforms, guns, posters, medals and much more. There will also be an exhibition of military vehicles in the church car park.

This mobile museum of First and Second World War artefacts has been displayed throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland at schools and public events to give young and old a hands-on approach to history.

War Years Remembered organiser, David McCallion, says: "Our mission is to bring history alive for all generations, giving both young and old a greater understanding of life during all the conflicts both on the battlefield and on the home front."

Running alongside War Years Remembered will be a parallel exhibition in the Church which will offer visitors a spiritual dimension to the event by highlighting some of the biblical references to war and showing how Christian faith can play its part in times of conflict.

The Crosslink Caf will be open daily for tea, coffee and light refreshments.

Both exhibitions will be open daily from 9am-5pm and 7pm-9pm, except Sunday 23. The exhibitions will close at 5pm on Saturday 29.
