Ballyclare resident warns of 'lewd acts' in car park

SIXMILEWATER Park is becoming a hotspot for those with an interest in public sex orgies, according to a Ballyclare resident.

Loren Shannon, who has lived in the town for 30 years, contacted the Times this week to warn local people about the obscene activities she has witnessed in the car park at the bridge on Mill Road.

Loren revealed that she had seen people engaging in what is colloquially referred to as "dogging" in the park's car park.

The dogging practice got its name from the term "walking the dog" - an excuse given by participants to go out and watch couples having sex in public, or to join in themselves.

"Having lived in Ballyclare for the last 30 years I have seen my fair share of goings-on, but this takes the biscuit," Loren told the Times.

"Walking my dog through the Sixmile Park last Thursday evening around 10pm, I was sickened to the bowels of my stomach when I came across what appeared to be doggers in the carpark.

"I am well aware the term 'dogging' came from walking the dog, but by no means were the people involved walking any sort of animals.

"In fact, I counted five cars, all parked in a circle. I walked over to intervene as there were children still on the swings a few hundred metres away, when I caught a glimpse of something which can be described as nothing else but lewd.

"A bright green motorcar, was parked in the centre, with all other cars shining their headlights into the windows of the offending vehicle. Several people were standing with video cameras, scantily clad, and I'm not talking the females," she said.
