Ballyeamon Road 'refusal'

PLANNERS are of the opinion to refuse outline permission for a site for a single dwelling and domestic garage between 14 Tully Crescent and 45A Ballyeamon Road, Cushendall.

Planners say there are no over-riding reasons why the development is essential in a rural location and say if permitted it would result in the addition of ribbon development along a private lane.

Planners add that the dwelling, if permitted, would prejudice the safety and convenience of road users since the restricted width of the existing access renders it unsatisfactory for increased use.

It was also said the site lies in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and would impact on that.

The applicants are Mr and Mrs.D. Birt.
