Ballykeel Church offers support to soldiers & families

AHEAD of the forthcoming tour in Afghanistan, Ballykeel Presbyterian Church have been raising support and awareness for local Ballymena soldiers who are due to be deployed shortly.

A number of members in the south Ballymena congregation have been busy collecting 'morale boosting' presents which will be sent with the troops in the coming weeks. Families of some soldiers have also been visited and offered pastoral support.

Minister Rev Martin McNeely commented: "This is an anxious time for many local families. In our congregation there are a number of families connected with the Royal Irish, Irish Guards and other regiments going to the frontline. We will be praying for the young men of Ballykeel in particular who will be serving.

“We want to be able to support their homes as much as possible and pray for their safe return”.
