Ballymaconnelly festival week

Ballymaconnelly Renewal Group are pleased to announce they are having a community festival week in June.

The Ballymaconnelly Renewal Group was set up 2 years ago to approach and manage the new building project at Ballymaconnelly Orange Hall, and this is their 2nd community festival week.

AN exhibition on traditions and culture surrounding Ballymaconnelly Orange Hall will run from 6th June to the 18th June, and will be open to the public.This exhibition will focus on the Band a Lodge and Groups that operate from the Hall, an explanation of their culture and their histories over the Halls 82 year history. This will contain aritfacts and memorabilia and the Halls impact on its local community.

On Tuesday 7th June ,the Renewal group will be having a Community walk , from Portneal Lodge to Culmore House, with a walking tour of Mr Loughrans organic farm included.Light refreshments will be provided.Departing Portneal Car park sharp at 7pm sharp.

Thursday 9th of June is the Community Week Treasure Hunt, starting at 7pm from the Hall.Last car leaves no later than 8pm!

Saturday the11th June sees the main festival day in McCaugherns field adjacent to the hall, which includes a car boot sale, a vintage rally including steam engines and vintage cars, festivities such as horse shoe throw, air rifle stand,bouncy castle, face painting and childs activities.Also there will be archery, and horse riding. And for the more competitive along you,a penalty shoot out competition, dart competition, and tug of war! Various stands and artists will also be attending.

The Renewal Group welcome all ages and all the community far and wide to attend, and can promise a fun filled day for all.

In the evening there will also be a BBQ and live music in the marquee erected in the field,.
