Generous Ballymena folk have helped raise £1,454.87 for Diabetes UK’ Big Collection at the Tesco Larne Link store.

Volunteers in Ballymena raise £1,454.87 for Diabetes UK Big Collection

Many enthusiastic volunteers collected donations and helped raise awareness of diabetes, a condition that affects one in seven.

Lizzy Mewha, Team Leader for the local collection thanked the volunteer collectors and those who donated.

“We had a fun weekend and the volunteers did a great job spreading some cheer in store. It was fantastic to have the added support of Belfast Giant Calvin Elfring who came along and helped us. Calvin also has Type 1 diabetes so it was great to see a professional ice hockey player raise awareness about the condition in Northern Ireland,” she said.
