Ballymena to host County Antrim Royal Black demonstration

Around 17,000 members of the Royal Black Institution will be on parade at six locations across Northern Ireland, for the Last Saturday demonstrations, on August 27.

Approximately 360 preceptories, most accompanied by bands, will take part in processions in Ballymena, Lisburn Portadown,

Loughgall, Castlederg and Raphoe in County Donegal

Ballymena will host the County Antrim demonstration where 79 preceptories will take part, accompanied by 75 bands.

The demonstration was last held in Ballymena in 2010.

The parade will begin at 12.30pm at the Showgrounds and take a route through the town to end at Ballee Playing Fields. The return parade will be at 4.15pm.

The platform proceedings at 3.00pm will be chaired by Harold McCloy, District Master of Ballymena No. 2 district.

The guest speaker will be George Arthur, Assistant Sovereign Grand Master.
