Ballymena woman becomes first Bride Wars finalist

A YOUNG bride-to-be from Ballymena is the first finalist to make the cut in a province-wide competition to win a £20k wedding.

Jennifer McNeill from the town is through to the final of the Wedding Extravaganza Bride Wars competition for which Cool FM is hosting the regional finals.

She was one of 40 brides-to-be who turned up at Belfast’s City Hall on Saturday, July 24, to compete in the first heat - all proving that they would literally do anything for their special day!

The competition, organised by the Wedding Extravaganza Show in association with Cool FM will be holding heats across the province over the next six weeks in order to find one lucky bride and groom who will walk away with an amazing bridal package!

Tanya Doory, organiser of the event has been astounded at the response, she said: “We have six heats ahead of us and already have around 220 brides who have entered the competition, to get such a massive response so quickly is fantastic”.

The brides were put through a series of questions, tasks and challenges, including having to stick their hands into a box filled with worms and locusts in order to be in with a chance of getting through to the final.

Jennifer emerged as the lucky bride to be from the Belfast heat and will compete against another five finalists to win the 20k dream wedding.

The winning couple will be announced at the Wedding Extravaganza which takes place in the Odyssey on September 3-5, the show is a one stop shop for all things bridal, including Ant & Dick, the celebrity wedding planners who will be on hand throughout the day with top tips on how to create the perfect day.

The winning couple will walk away with an incredible prize package, including a Honeymoon, dress, photography, Hen & stag parties, groom’s wear, Bridesmaid dresses, a hair & beauty package, wedding rings, transport on the day, wedding favours, cake, teeth whitening, Music, gifts, casino tables, to name just a few of the prizes up for grabs.Regional heats will take place every Saturday for the next six weeks with updates being broadcast on Cool FM.
