Baby Joy Fenton not only shares a birthday with the young Prince George, but now the seven-week-old knows the pressures of the first official family portrait.

As a gift to the family in recognition of their special arrival, Mayor of Ballymena Cllr Audrey Wales MBE organised a family portrait session with Galgorm photographer Ewan Harkness. And little Joy was a natural in front of the camera, even managing to relax with a quick forty winks in her father, Andrew’s arms.

Heather Fenton, Joy’s mother, is delighted to share the date with Will and Kate. She said: “It was unexpected though I knew Kate was in labour when I went into hospital. The portrait is a lovely present and I will certainly be keeping it and the newspaper articles to show Joy when she is old enough to understand”.

The Mayor also plans to present a special edition Royal Penny to baby Joy in a reception at her parlour. After the birth, the Royal Mint announced that all babies born on the same day as Prince George would receive this ‘lucky’ gift.
