Ballymena’s visitor centre is shortlisted for tourism trophy
Ballymena’s Visitor Information Centre (VIC) is in the running for a top tourism award.
The town’s VIC has been shortlisted for the Best Northern Ireland Tourist Information Centre 2015 in the NI Travel Awards which will be held in Newcastle, County Down, on October 16. Its shortlisting was by public vote conducted on line or through the NI Travel Newspaper.
Details were revealed at last week’s Economic Growth & Development Committee of Mid & East Antrim Council which was informed that Ballymena VIC at The Braid is one of four centres shortlisted including the Belfast Welcome Centre.
As well as the public vote, the winner will be decided on the outcome of a ‘mystery shopper’ test.
