Ballymoney car dealer’s plans ‘refused’

A leading car dealer in Ballymoney has been refused permission for the development of a vehicle sales yard to supersede a previous approval for apartments, a meeting of the Council has been told.

Refusing the application submitted by Mr Rodi Gage planners said the proposal would be detrimental to the character of the surrounding area by reason of its inappropriate land use which would adversely alter the character of the area.

Another reason was that the development would be incompatible with the surrounding land uses and harm the amenities of nearby residents.

There were three letters of objections. Mr Gage had proposed a car sales yard with the existing garage to be retained as a store.
