Plans for a wind turbine near Friary Road in Ballymoney have been approved by Planners.

At last Monday’s meeting of Ballymoney Council, members heard that Andrew Clark had applied to erect a 250kw wind turbine 340m south west of 14 Friary Road.

Planners have refused a scheme for eight apartments and car parking at Main Street in Cloughmills.

The application by Peter O’Kane was for two detached two-storey apartment developments (eight two bedroom apartments) with associated car parking at 31-33 Main Street.

There was one letter of objection and Planners turned down the application because it would not provide “a quality residential environment”. Cllr John Finlay asked for an office meeting to discuss the matter further.

A plan for a two storey house near Lisconnan Road in Ballymoney has been passed by Planners despite two letters of objection.

The application by Paul Gray was for land south west of Lisconnan Road for a two storey dwelling with a detached garage.

Objections were based on the impact of traffic but Planners were content with the application and it was approved.

An application for a farm dwelling near Bendooragh Road has been refused by Planners.

The application by Desmond Taylor for land north west of 61 Bendooragh Road was turned down for four reasons - not being visually linked to an established group of buildings; would not integrate into the landscape; would be unduly promiment and did not adequately consider the impact of the development in terms of pollution.

An office meeting was requested by councillors.

An application by the trustees of Granagh Orange Hall for a rear extension to the hall has been approved by Planners.

The scheme is for the hall at 138 Mullan Road, Rasharkin.

A scheme for a wind turbine at the Glenstall Road in Ballymoney has been approved by Planners. The application by G Robinson for land north east of Glenstall Road was approved.

The erection of a wind turbine on the Frosses Road has been approved by Planners. The application by Patrick Forbes for one turbine at land west of 290 Frosses Road was given the green light.

Plans for a two storey rear extension to a semi-detached house in Ballymoney have been appproved. The application by Ivan Carson for 30 Robinson Avenue were approved on Monday night last.
