Ballymoney Council supports Armed Forces Day

ON Monday Mayor, Alderman Frank Campbell, along with Mr Jim Johnston from The Royal British Legion and Mr David McCaw from the UDR Association, raised the Armed Forces Day flag at 10.30am outside Council Headquarters, Riada House.

Flags were raised in unison across the United Kingdom, Channel Islands and Isle of Man, in a universal show of support, honouring Britain's Armed Forces.

Speaking at Council Headquarters on the morning the Armed Forces Day flag was raised, Mayor Campbell said, "Council is proud to show its support for all our armed forces personnel. Those presently serving, those killed or injured in all conflicts, past and present, veterans and cadets. Other councils here and in all parts of the United Kingdom are joining in this event and Ballymoney Council is pleased to have this opportunity to unite with them in showing our gratitude and paying tribute to all personnel past, present and future."

Council will fly the flag from Monday 21st June to Saturday 26th June.
