Ballymoney lights up this Christmas

Ballymoney will herald the start of Christmas celebrations with a night of high entertainment.

The council’s programme has already begun with the erection of new and more impressive Christmas lights and features around the streets of the town.

And on Thursday, November 21, there’ll be a huge celebration when Santa’s Chief Elf hosts singing, games and spot prizes at the High Street stage for the official lights switch-on.

The traditional late night opening of shops will also take place and shoppers and visitors can enjoy a lantern parade, carol singers, a sing-along with Santa, Christmas characters, balloon modelling and face painting to add to the fun.

It doesn’t end there. The council have decided not to throw all their eggs into one basket; instead, there will be a full week by week programme of events in the build up to Christmas
itself.

A Christmas Fayre, Santa’s Grotto, competition, pantos, cinema and storytelling will all feature in November and December and shoppers will also be able to enjoy Saturday ‘toon tunes’ to welcome shoppers. There will also be two late
nights.

The Chamber of Commerce and Council officials are keen to encourage people to support their own town this year and with £200 vouchers to be won every week in the run up to Christmas, the incentive is clear.
