Ballymoney Police notes

Ballymoney police arrested a 27 year old man in the Edward Street area on suspicion of possession of class B drugs. The arrest came just after 10pm on Friday 31 Janaury. The man was later street bailed pending further enquiries.

Police are investigating two suspected burglaries in the Ballymoney area over the last few days. The first break in happened at a business premises at Rodeing Foot between Friday night and the morning of Saturday 01 February. In the second incident, an unoccupied house in Cloughmills was broken into and ransacked. A quantity of cash was thought to have been taken during the Cloughmills burglary, which was reported to police on Saturday 01 Feb. Police enquiries into both matters are continuing but they are not thought to be linked.

Police are investigating the report of an assault on a school boy in the Townhead Street area of Ballymoney on the afternoon of Friday 31 January. The school boy is thought to have been punched in the head and face by a man not known to him. He suffered swelling and bruising to his eye as a result but his injuries are not serious. Police received a report of oil and parts having been stolen from a digger parked in the Boyds Road area of Dunloy. The theft is thought to have happened across the span of a fortnight as the digger was parked up. Anyone with information is asked to contact Ballymoney police on 0845 600 8000.

Police are investigating a suspected metal theft reported to police on Monday 27 January. The theft is thought to have happened at an unoccupied house on the Bellaghy Road. Police would remind owners of unoccupied properties to help prevent this type of crime by removing metal items where possible.
