Ballymoney police notes

ON Tuesday December 18 a couple left their home at Bridge Road, Dunloy, at 7.30pm and when they returned a number of hours later they found the house was broken into.

Bedrooms were ransacked and a sum of money was stolen and valuable jewellery, including a gold necklace and two watches, was taken.

* On Monday December 17 a 46-year-old woman was arrested in connection with a shoplifting incident in Ballymoney town centre. She was charged with theft and is due to appear at Coleraine Magistrates Court on January 11.

* On Tuesday December 18 a 39-year-old man was arrested at Market Street, Ballymoney, in connection with assault and criminal damage. He was released on bail to come back to a police station on January 10 pending further enquiries.

* On Wednesday December 19 a 34-year-old man was arrested in connection with criminal damage and assault following an incident in which windows were broken in a house and a vehicle damaged. He was released on bail to return to a police station in January.

* A 20-year-old man was arrested on Thursday December 20 for allegedly driving whilst unfit in the Finvoy Road area of Ballymoney. He was charged to appear at court on January 18.

* Neighbourhood Police Officers searched a house in the Castle Street area of Ballymoney on Thursday December 20 and a small quantity of suspected herbal cannabis. A report will be submitted to the Public Prosecution Service.

* Police are investigating a suspected traffic collision which happened in the forecourt of a filling station in the Rodeing Foot area of Ballymoney on Saturday December 8 around 10.15pm.

Police were told a lady parked a silver coloured Golf car and when she returned around 15 minutes later there was a 2ft long deep scrape on the vehicle and it is believed it was caused by another vehicle.
