Guests were also given an overview of home fuel markets and the energy market outlook going forward.

Michael Scott, Acting General Manager for firmus energy, commented: “With fuel prices remaining volatile, Mike Smyth’s address on global markets was extremely timely as costs are impacted by many worldwide factors, from natural disasters to political instability within fuel-rich countries.

“In these tough economic times, all businesses, whether they are a small takeaway, an industrial user with multiple sites, a school or a health care provider, are watching their bottom line. When it comes to utility prices and services, customers want to deal with a company that can deliver competitive prices and innovation along with first-class service.

“Our experienced trading team coupled with the purchasing power of our parent company, Bord Gais, which has more than one million customers across Ireland, means that we have in the past and will continue to offer customers extremely competitive prices – regardless of their size or energy usage.
