Working in teams, Tesco colleagues will compete with each other andsee which team can raise the most money during 30 minutes of fundraising activity. Customers will be asked to dig deep to support the excellent work of these two charities.

This event is part of the three year National Charity Partnership between Tesco, Diabetes UK and the BHF.

The partnership aims to save lives by supporting millions of people to eat better and get active, reducing their risk of serious ill-health in the future, as well as helping to fund the vital work of the BHF and Diabetes UK across the UK.

Fionnuala Savage, Fundraising Manager for the National Charity Partnership, explains; “We are really delighted to see Tesco colleagues in Ballymoney staging their own collection event to raise funds for

Diabetes UK and the BHF.

“There are currently 3.5 million people in the UK living with Type 2 diabetes and 7 million people living with heart and circulatory disease. This event is a great way to bring the community together and remind

everyone of the importance of leading an active and healthy lifestyle. Physical exercise plays a key role in maintaining a healthy weight, which in turn reduces the risk of developing both conditions.

“This is also a great opportunity for Tesco colleagues to have some fun together, while raising vital funds to help people across the UK.”
