Ballyroney BB's annual display and awards

THE Ballyroney Boys Brigade 66th annual display took place on Friday March 12 in the Church hall to a large audience of parents and friends.

It was a varied programme of Drill, Figure Marching, floor games, boxwork, duster hockey, comedy items and singing.

A finale item, entitled “Back to the Future”, was performed by the junior section of the Company.

The guest of honour, former Company Captain Edwin Truesdale gave his remarks on the display, commenting on most items performed. He also expressed his delight in being asked to be the guest and said it was an honour to be present.

The captain gave an outline of the events which took place during the year and applauded the success of the Company during the year.

The awards in the Company Section went to Alexander McCrum (Drill Down Cup and Captain’s Cup), Sam Green and Sam Baxter (Best Recruits), Wayne Cochrane (Best serving member), Aaron Megaw (PE shield), Jordan Mark and Jamie Dickinson (O’Grady Cup), Ryan Williamson and Wayne Cochrane (Attendance Cup), Jordan Mark (Style Cup).

The awards in the Junior Section went to Michael Clydesdale (Best recruit), Ryan Clydesdale (Best Boy), Jack Scott (100 per cent in the Scripture Cup), Ryan Truesdale (Leading Boy), David Baxter (PE Shield).

There were no individual awards for the Anchor Boys but each boy received a gift from their leader for attendance.
