Ballytober Lodge presents cheque to RNIB Blind Centre

FOR several years, members of Ballytober LOL 1500 have been holding an annual religious service the proceeds of which are donated to a local charity.

The tradition has always been met with enthusiasm by Lodge members and the various charities nominated have been more than pleased to receive cheques to help with running costs.

This year, the Lodge nominated the Royal National Institute for the Blind Centre in Coleraine as their chosen charity and on Friday night of last week, the Worshipful Master, Bro. Sammy Sharpe and his Deputy, Roy McAfee, presented a cheque for 250 to Mr. Raymond Thompson, a Project Worker at the Centre.

The service was held in the hall on November last and was well attended.

Mr.Thompson told Bro. Sharpe that he was delighted that the Centre had been nominated and promised that the money would be put to very good use.

Presenting the cheque, Bro. Sharpe said the money was being donated to a very worthwhile cause.

“This represents a token of our appreciation for all the work you do,” Bro. Sharpe told Mr. Thompson.
