Ballywillan sail into2015 with Robert

Members of Ballywillan Men’s Fellowship restart this Thursday (8 January) with the annual general meeting, which gets underway at 11am following the customary informal half-hour for tea, coffee and chat.

In addition to the usual review of the past year’s activities, details will be given of plans for the coming year.

Speakers for the month of January have already been announced and commence with Robert Anderson on Thursday, January 15.

It is most appropriate that Mr. Anderson should launch the 2015 programme as he was one of the Fellowship’s first speakers when the organisation was initiated 20 years ago.

A well-known maritime historian and author, Mr. Anderson is harbour master at Portrush and will be telling the fascinating story of the efforts over many years to solve the problem of the sandbar at the River Bann entrance.

Other speakers for this month include Andrew Baird who will speak on Planet Solar (22 January) and Brian Fillis, whose subject will be Peru (Machupicchu) on 29 January.

Retired and semi-retired men will be made most welcome at the Ballywillan Fellowship meetings, which are noted for their friendly atmosphere. No church connection is required.
