Ban for Castlerock mother

A CASTLEROCK woman, who had no insurance, has been banned from driving.

Laura Sharon Gallagher (20) of Temple Park, was stopped by a police patrol on the Milburn Road in Coleraine.

She was driving a Vauxhall Cavalier but police checks revealed that she did not have insurance.

Solicitor Sam Barr said the mother of two had forgotten to change over the insurance from another car.

He said that she was under the impression that she would be covered third party for the vehicle.

Mr Barr went on to say that Gallagher transported her grandmother to Altnagelvin Hospital in Londonderry twice a month for medical treatment.

District Judge, Richard Wilson fined Gallagher 200 and disqualified her for a month.
