Banbridge & District Horticultural Society hold annual show

There were a number of prizewinners at this year’s show, which was once again an incredibly popular event.

Some of those who took home prizes were Archie McKelvey, who won the Margaret Adams Memorial Cup, Dennis Dunlop won the Committee Cup for the Best Exhibit in the Vegetable Section, Colin McMorris won the Joe McAleenan Trophy, Ken Hall was the Jack Heather Cup winner, whilst Lettie Fleming was the winner of the Addis Cup for Floral Art.

Meanwhile, Helen Martin won the Home Industries Cup as well as a certificate for her photographs, whilst the Kenny Hanna Memorial Cup for the Special Section for Gentleman in Home Industries went to James Smyth, the Lowry Cup for the Best Miniature in a Shell went to Norma Baird and Alex Dale and his daughter Sandra had charge of the flower and plant sale with the proceeds this year going towards Crohn’s Disease Research.
