Last year the band took part in the UK City of Culture ‘Music City’ day, playing to a packed Playhouse Theatre, which was a huge success not least in terms of the potential for the development of greater understanding of the marching band culture of Northern Ireland.

In August of last year, on the back of the success of the Music City day, the band was asked to take part in the All-Ireland Fleadh. As the band members wanted to continue with the positive publicity the marching band culture have received through the UK City of Culture, members decided to take up the offer and played to an enthusiastic crowd, receiving a great reception in Ebrington Square. Once again, the event helped to underline the high standards of musical ability and discipline that all marching bands operating in Northern Ireland strive to maintain.

Burntollet Flute Band is always recruiting new members, either to the drum core or flute core, and hold band practice on a Tuesday night in the Ebrington/Rochesters Complex, on the third floor, at 8pm. New members welcome.

The band have thanked everyone who has helped members over the years and those who continue to support them.
