Bann District Enterprises holds 25th AGM

Chairman Dr. Gordon Byrne welcomed everyone to the very special 25th Annual General Meeting of Banbridge District Enterprises on Tuesday December 2.

Dr. Byrne was delighted to report that occupancy levels at Banbridge Enterprise Centre and at Banbridge Business Centre remain at 100%.

Dr Byrne stated: “Across Banbridge District we provide accommodation to more than 50 businesses.

“We have reinvested significantly into our premises this year and I think you will agree that our centre looks in excellent condition.”

He continued: “We will be continuing with our improvements during the next year and we hope that you will continue to see enhancements and improvements for the benefits of our tenant businesses and visitors.”

Rathfriland Enterprise Centre has continued to develop and is 100% occupied and Dunbarton Court in Gilford is also 100% occupied. The Chairman thanked the Directors for their invaluable contribution during the year and also thanked the staff of the Enterprise Centre for their work and dedication.

Ciaran Cunningham, Manager, commented: “We are delighted to assist new business starts on a daily basis in the Banbridge area through the help of the Invest NI Regional Start Programme.

“We are also actively involved in the delivery of other support initiatives such as Exploring Enterprise, IOTA, Inspire Programme and Options.

“Clients can also access loan funding through our membership organisation Enterprise Northern Ireland. An increasing number of start-ups are availing of this service when starting their business.”

The company has completed one year of a two year European wide StreetFood Project and plans to develop this project further.

They are also about to embark on another Erasmus+ Programme regarding the start-up culture within the migrant community across Europe.

Banbridge District Enterprises will continue to investigate further opportunities on a local, national and international basis during 2015 in order to enhance the District’s economic development.
