The court heard that police received a report of a male person driving a moped erratically in Shankill Street.

They saw Curran go into a shop in Edward Street and when they spoke to him his breath smelled of alcohol. A breath test gave a reading of 99.

He was asked if he had anything in his possession and he showed police fireworks under the seat of the moped.

A solicitor said Curran had driven a short distance from his home. He only had about half a dozen fireworks in the moped.
