Banned for noinsurance offence

Adam Gronkowski, whose address was given as Pollock Drive, Lurgan, was also fined £250 for the offence and ordered to pay a £15 offender’slevy.

As well he was fined £100 for not having a licence.

The court heard the offences came to light when he was stopped at Russell Drive in Lurgan on the afternoon of February 22.

The defendant said he had lost his licence last year and had not got a replacement.

His partner had a policy of insurance for the vehicle and the defendant was not named on the policy.

He assumed he was covered by the policy.

A solicitor representing Gronkowski said he thought he might have been covered but he should not have been driving without a licence.
