Banned for six months

A LURGAN man was banned for six months last Thursday at Craigavon court for driving without insurance on October 31 last year.

Philip Bayliss (22) of Ashgrove Park, Lurgan, was also fined 250 for the offence.

The court heard he was stopped at Lake Street in Lurgan and asked to produce his insurance.

He produced a policy which was dated from November 1 last year. He said he thought he was insured.

Mr Pat Vernon, representing the defendant, said his client had bought the car a few weeks before and had a cover note for a month. He did not have the money for the insurance premiums and let it lapse.
