The court heard that a police patrol saw a car being driven from Caddells Lane to Downpatrick Street, Rathfriland.

Checks revealed there was no insurance or a test certificate in place.

Police followed the vehicle and spoke to the defendant who was driving.

He admitted the offences.

Through an interpreter in court Bednarski apologised for his behaviour.

He explained that he usually got a lift but was doing overtime and used the car just on this occasion to get to work.
