Barry Clements took on the Valentine’s day “badminthon” at Larne Leisure centre to raise money for TinyLife, Northern Ireland’s premature and sick baby charity.

The event saw Barry take on an array of challengers throughout his gruelling nine-hour stint on the badminton court.

He commented: “This is a challenge I’ve been thinking about for a while as TinyLife is a charity that is close to the hearts of our friends and family.”

Paying tribute to Barry, TinyLife Community Fundraiser Gillian Breen said: “TinyLife is a small local charity providing emotional and practical support to the parents of premature babies across Northern Ireland through our raft of Family Support Services.

“We wouldn’t be able to continue this work without the tremendous support of local people like Barry and his family and friends.”

Last year, over 750 families benefitted from TinyLife’s services.
