BB boys do their bit for cancer charity

The boys raised the money through their annual 10-hour sponsored games marathon, which saw them take part in a range of games through the night.

The 1st Ballyclare Company decided to donate the money to Friends of the Cancer Centre in support of one of its officers, Brian Montgomery, who is currently being treated for prostate cancer at the Cancer Centre, and past officer, Neil Armstrong, who has just been given the all clear after going through treatment over the last year.

Mr Montgomery handed the cheque over to his doctor, Dr Darren Mitchell, on behalf of the Company.

Friends of the Cancer Centre is one of the leading local cancer charities in Northern Ireland.

The charity relies entirely on donations and the generosity of people across the province.

Every year, Friends of the Cancer Centre uses the funds raised by its supporters to fund vital projects at the Cancer Centre at Belfast City Hospital that have a real and lasting impact on patients and their families.
