Be careful of the words we use and things we do

“Forgetting those things which are behind, I now press forward.” Phil 3: 13

Pause to think upon the value of words,

They can wound or they can bless

And even then their impact upon yourself

Depends a lot on what you confess.

If you habitually speak of doubt and failure

And keep pondering why things are so,

Or focus upon your valley experiences,

Then to that level you will go.

The apostle Paul spoke words of encouragement,

Firmly believed in pressing towards his goal,

Thus forgetting the things that lay behind

Lifts the eternal value of your soul.

Let’s be careful of the words we use

And give more thought to the things we do,

Some could be failing to read their Bible

But they may be reading you.
