Bear Grylls recognises Cloughfern scout leaders service

Beaver Scout leaders from Cloughfern were honoured to receive awards for their outstanding service to the Scout Movement.

They received their awards from Chief Scout, Bear Grylls at a recent presentation.

District Commissioner Oliver Townsend presented the certificates to Linda Cherry (left in photograph) and Claire Robinson Jenkins.

Linda and Claire are both Beaver Scout leaders with 1st Cloughtfern Scout Group.

Oliver congratulated them on having their outstanding voluntary community work recognised by the well-known Chief Scout.

Bear Grylls will hold the position of UK Chief Scout until 2018.

The East Antrim group meets at the Church of the Ascension on the Doagh Road in Cloughferm.
