Beggs queries walking strategy
East Antrim MLA Roy Beggs has asked the DCAL Minister to outline her proposals to promote walking as a leisure activity.
Mr Beggs said: “I feel that we should be investing in creating more pathways and routes for ramblers to explore and increasing the uptake in walking.”
The Minister indicated her Department funds Outdoor Recreation NI in support of ‘Our Great Outdoors’ 2013-2020 action plan. The plan details a range of activities to ensure that outdoor recreation contributes significantly to healthy lifestyles.
