Belfast High pupil ‘test drives’ Dundee University

Seventeen-year-old Anna Lisk, from Newtownabbey, beat 400 pupils to win an all-expenses paid trip to “test drive Dundee”.

“TestDrive Dundee” is an initiative run by the University of Dundee in which the public votes for the students they’d most like to see win the trip to check out everything the university and the city has to offer.

After weeks of canvassing for votes, Anna and the group generated almost 8,000 votes to secure their places.

She said: “The whole thing was a fantastic experience. The university was great and the facilities available to the students are amazing. I particularly enjoyed having a nosy around the union, the variety of places for students to go and eat or just relax is brilliant, plus the library and its technology is an amazing asset for students.

“It’s most definitely a main option for me and when deciding what university to apply to, I will take it into serious consideration.”

In between visiting the university’s various academic departments, including the famous comics studio, Anna took part in a live interview on student radio and was given an iPad to update the university’s 26.5k Twitter followers on a tour of the city which included visiting the McManus Gallery, and the Botanic Gardens.
