Club president Brenda Houston welcomed guest speakers Trevor and Helen Rankin, who are members of the Belleek International Collectors Society.

They traced the history of the brand from its origins in the Mid 1800s when a local landowner started a pottery business making household wares to provide employment for tenants on his estate, through the development of the famous Parian ware characterised by its fineness and slightly iridescent surface, the introduction of the intricate latticework and floral decoration which attracted world wide attention and the extended range of modern products marketed to-day.

Their presentation included slides illustrating the process of constructing a Belleek basket and a display of samples of beautiful baskets from their collection.

Rotarian Anna Craig, on behalf of club members, congratulated them on their comprehensive and excellent presentation.
