Benefit fraud

A BALLYCLARE man has been convicted at Antrim Magistrates' Court on Monday, June 7, for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

Andrew Brennan (29) of Doagh Road, Ballyclare failed to declare he was working while claiming Jobseekers Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling 647.

He was given a 1,500 fine and ordered to pay 64 court costs.

Mr Brennan is also required to repay the money he wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
