Benvardin - Giving pets another chance

BENVARDIN kennels is located on the site previously known as The Causeway Safari Park, in the town land of Derrykeighan, near Ballybogey.

The Ulster SPCA stepped in 15 years ago when all the animals were in danger of being destroyed due to the former park closing.

All the animals at the Safari Park where successfully re-homed to sanctuaries which dealt with all their individual requirements and needs.

Today, the centre is now known as Benvardin Kennels Ulster SPCA and takes in stray and unwanted dogs from Coleraine and Moyle council.

Dogs are kept in our care for a period of six days to allow the owners a chance to re-claim their pets, those that are not re-claimed will then be put up for adoption after assessment.

When a dog is re-homed from Benvardin Kennels, they receive a complete package.

This includes a dog licence where applicable, 1st vaccination and in some cases a 2nd.

The dog is wormed and de-flead and comes with a neutering voucher if this has not already been done.

These vouchers mean the new owner has only 15 to pay and the voucher covers the rest of the neutering at most reputable vets.

Recently we at Benvardin have teamed up with the staff at Canine Creations and we can now offer a FREE wash and blow dry with all the dogs; as well as our discount vouchers from Pets at Home and Jollyes pet stores in Coleraine, who have been proud supporters of Benvardin Kennels for a number of years now.

Dogs can be viewed on our website www.benvardinkennels.co.uk and our face book site Benvardin Kennels, where we welcome you to post us your photos and comments on animals re-homed from us in the past, or alternatively contact us on 07979 534023. We are open to the public every day from 2 pm until 4 pm.

Donations of bedding materials, food, beds, toys and newspapers are much appreciated.

These can be left at Benvardin, Jollyes, Pets at Home and Coleraine Pet Shop for collection.
