Bernadette takes prize

THE ladies competed for Mrs Diane McClelland's prize on Tuesday, September 21.

With a return of 38 points the overall winner was Bernadette Lavery. The gross award went to Bronagh McKavanagh with 26 gross points. The Section 1 winner was Lynne Hanna with 37 points. The Section 2 winner was Hilary Heslip with 31 points. Her back nine ousted Fran McCann from the prize. With a score of 35 points Daryl Jameson captured the Section 3 award.

Meanwhile the 9-hole prize went to Sally Hayes with 16 points. The ‘Twos’ sweep was shared by Sheena McStay, Katrina Bradford and Diane Patterson.

The Summer Ringer competition has been completed and the winners are: 1st: Lynne Hanna net 59; 2nd: Georgie Hogan net 59.66; 3rd: Ray Gregg net 60; 4th: Diane McClelland net 61.33.

Lady Captain Wendy Rusk on behalf of the Ladies Branch presented Mrs Fiona Cummins with a bouquet of flowers in recognition of her sterling work with the juniors.

On Friday, September 24, the last four-ball Mixed Scramble of the season was played at the club. This competition began about eight years ago and was the brainchild of Mrs Ray Gregg and Mrs Marie Magee. It has gone from strength to strength and is very popular with the members.

The winners of this last competition were: Paul Carlin, Des Gregg, Georgie Hogan and Amanda Lyness with 26 net. In second spot was the quartet of Brian Bradford, Michael McSherry, Lynne Hanna and Cathy McClements with a score of 26.4.

After the presentation Lady Captain Wendy Rusk presented a bottle of champagne to Irene and Ronnie McCusker to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
